Expressions of gratitude make it all worthwhile
Senior home care is not for everyone. It takes a unique individual to do well and enjoy this type of work, especially given the fact that there's not a lot of money involved. Those of us who enjoy doing what we do know that monetary pay is only part of the reward.
Our senior clients are wonderful people who appreciate our efforts. Here's a note we received recently:
To the staff at Aspen Senior Care:
Thank you so much for the service you offered me and my dad in the last couple months of his life. Becky was wonderful to come in and relieve me of some of my care duties and to offer companionship and nourishment--both physical and emotional--to my dad. Please convey to her my sincere and deep appreciation. He led a long and full life, and I'm proud of him and grateful that he can rest in peace with my mother. May God bless you as you continue to provide this much-needed service to others.
Sincerely,
Ellen W.
How wonderful is that! Those expressions of gratitude make everything we do so worthwhile. We receive them regularly from our clients and their family members and they carry us through our good days and our more challenging ones.
The work we do is important and very personal. How grateful we are for the opportunity to be there through the final days, weeks, months and years of such good and kind people.
